During his career in the Navy, Bill discovered how honesty, integrity and hard work could bring greater possibilities for him and his family. And for over three decades, he accepted every challenge he faced, working up through the ranks from Seaman Recruit to Senior Chief Petty Officer, and eventually earning a commission and retiring with the rank of Commander. Whether chipping paint on the decks of a Navy Destroyer, operating sophisticated electronics systems as Officer in Charge of the US Navy Submarine Rescue Unit, or working in state-of-the-art Submarine Research and Development projects, he gave his best at everything he did.

Commitment to Family and Community
As a retired Navy Commander, Bill understands the importance of helping other people. While in the Navy, he helped develop the careers of many bright young Navy men and women. As Commander of the Navy's Submarine Rescue Unit, he was responsible for being ready at all times to respond to submarine disasters anywhere in the world. But nowhere is Bill's commitment more apparent than with his family and community. After he retired from the Navy, he and his wife, Jackie, decided to get back to their roots, and relocated to the Atlanta area to be closer to their daughter Stacey's family, especially their grandson, Will. For Bill, a man who shares the Southern community's values and loyalty to family, the move was a smooth transition. As an active member of the Marietta Kiwanis Club, Former President of the East Cobb Business Association, and Director of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, he continues to exert a positive influence in this north Atlanta community.
